Went for dinner a Tuddenham Mill, never been before. It's a lovely location only a few miles of the A14 between Bury At Edmunds and Newmarket. The restaurant itself is upstairs in the old water mill building, and the mill wheel and stone are still there built in as part of the the room with glass floor lights so you can see it comming up from below, a lovely touch. My wife has gluten and dairy intolerance, and this was catered for easily because all the food is freshly cooked on site. The food itself was excellent, each course arrived with what I considered a sensible amount of time between them, and there is a good selection of contemporary food and drink available at not unreasonable prices. The food I had was superb quality with a beautiful blend of flavours cooked expertly and I would happily eat it again. The service was also first rate with good with communication between serving staff covering both the food and the drinks, and the lady at the front of house being welcoming and accommodating to our every need, even having a chat with us at the end of the meal about her time working there. There is a real pride in what they do at this restaurant and that should not be underestimated. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening in picturesque surroundings, we came away very happy and would highly recommend giving it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Interestingly converted Mill in a small village North of Newmarket. Not cheap, but food and ambiance very good. Pleasant grounds for a stroll and lovely views from the Mill across the pond. Adjacent road busier than expected.

I fly to the UK just for the Sticky toffee pudding... I am serious. I bring everyone and everyone just for the pudding. But wait, there is more. All the food is incredible, amazing, fantastic... So good that even Jesus himself comes here once a year just for the Sticky toffee pudding...just saying.
Went to the pub for a quick meeting. Warm and friendly welcome and the pub looked like it was getting ready for a busy night. Would question why the toilet doors are labelled Bulls & Cows

Been in a number of time service in normally good but this occasion. Waited over half an hour for my dessert that hadn't been ordered. When it was bought to their attention, I was asked who I ordered it with which made me feel like I was lying. I work in customer service myself and had I been advised of I would of refused the whole order including my coffee without question. Usual I am more than happy with the service however this time left disappointed.
Was treated to Anoon Tea at Riverside earlier and it was wonderful.Food well presented, good choice of fayre and tasty too.Recommend you pay a visit.Their Sunday Lunches are commendable too with a good supply of vegetables served separately and more if desired.Staff extremely pleasant, helpful and friendly.

Very friendly family run pub. Made to feel very welcome by the landlord when we arrived and looked after during our visit. Food was hot, tasty and freshly cooked and the homemade ice cream was very welcome on a hot evening. Nice selection of gins too!
A real hidden gem. Small but cosy, homely, friendly pub. Food is freshly cooked and they cater for any food allergies. Staff are very friendly and helpful. You can either eat in the bar area or in the restaurant. We were so impressed, we took some of the family here to eat too. We look forward to eating here again soon.

My two daughters and I stayed at this beautiful B&B for three nights and could not have been more pleased. It was very comfortable, cozy, extremely clean and Allison was a perfect hostess. Very friendly and helpful as this was our first trip to the U.K. Her traditional English breakfasts were fantastic and such a luxury. We were definitely spoiled. I cannot express how happy we were with our stay. I will definitely stay there again!
If you're looking for a place to stay in this area of England go ahead and book with Church Farmhouse. You won't regret it. We could not have imagined a more beautiful, clean and inviting bed and breakfast. Alison was a wonderful host. She helped us find train tickets and a taxi, gave us great ideas for things to do in the area and cooked a most delicious breakfast each morning. Her home was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. It was easy to find. We stayed in the Rose Room. It was a large room with a tv, an attached bathroom with a tub and shower. The beds were very comfortable and neatly made each day. She provided tea, coffee, and biscuits in the room for us. I can't say enough about how much we loved staying at here and how much we loved our gracious host Alison.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
